Now, mind you, the only thing John and I vaguely knew about chinnies was that very expensive coats were made from their fur. Since Jonathan has a ready tendancy to quickly tire of new interests, I reluctantly agreed to accompany him to evaluate the possibility of adopting a chinnie for him. Much to my surprise, I saw a cute, grey puff-ball of energy. Compared to the ferret Jonathan had been asking for, this animal was one that I felt I would be willing to care for when the newness wore off. And, so our very first chinnie came to live with us.

Within a few days, I was totally enchanted with Chia. Since it was obvious that he was a far different pet than the hamsters I had as a child, I began searching the internet and book stores for information regarding truly proper chinchilla care. As I learned more and more, my concern for Chia's well-being grew. Within a few short weeks, and before Jonathan had time to fully lose interest in him, I claimed Chia as my very own to care for... and to cherish.

This decision forever changed our lives, and has provided us with both phenomenal joy and ,sometimes, devasting heartache.

We currently have the following chinchillas available for adoption:

Male
Brown Velvet
Hetero Beige
Hetero Ebony
Homo Ebony
Homo Beige/White Cross
Pink White
Standard

Female
Hetero Beige
Hetero Ebony
Homo Ebony
Homo Beige/White Cross
Pink White
Standard

Adoption information...

Selection:

Although our babies are not placed in their new homes until they are fully weaned (usually 10 weeks old), they may be reserved in advance.

Post-Adoption Care Package:

EVERY adoption includes the following 3 months supply of care items:

Purina Mazuri Chinchilla Pellets (The ONLY chinchilla pellet we whole-heartedly recommend!)

Alfalfa Cubes

Manna Pro Apple Horse Wafers

In an effort to help chinnie parents keep our babies "fat & sassy" (healthy ), we provide additional supplies at our ACTUAL cost.

Post-Adoption Support:

Not only do we provide day or night post-adoption support (free, of course!) via email and/or phone, but we also encourage it.

Please don't hesitate to email or call us with your questions or comments.

All messages will be responded to in as timely a manner as our schedule allows.
